An historic barn with carriage ramp and wooden bridge on Landmark’s high school campus inspired our design for a new Prep School and Outreach Training Center for students with learning disabilities. The exterior preserves the residential scale of the surrounding neighborhood, while the 2.5-storied entry lobby features the restored bridge and an open steel stair that entwines the elevator. The renovation and new construction includes a classroom wing with science lab. An interior glass-block wall maximizes natural light in classrooms. All of the spaces are carefully oriented, sized, and detailed to accommodate the special needs of the students. |
